c-LEcta’s patented technologies are perfectly suited for discovery and optimization of tailor-made enzymes and microbial strains for industrial biotech applications. c-LEcta owns a large microbial strain collection of more than 5000 pre-qualified strains and millions of gene candidates from metagenomes in ready-to-screen proprietary libraries (Biodiversity). c-LEcta combines all available information for a target protein to design individual engineering strategies. Industrial protein production often requires high quality and high quantity. To fulfill these requirements, c-LEcta developed several expression platforms: the eukaryotic yeast (Pichia pastoris) and the prokaryotic hosts (E.coli) and several Bacillus species. All expression systems consist of proprietary hosts and host-specific toolboxes. This enables c-LEcta to produce recombinant enzymes in high amounts (>10g/L). Target proteins can be either secreted into growth media or produced in the cytoplasm. All fermentation and downstream processes are scalable and can therefore be easily transferred to larger volumes. c-LEcta’s enzyme sources for biocatalysis includes a growing collection of >250 enzymes in ready-to-screen format, enzyme engineering with highly efficient proprietary approaches and exploration of biodiversity to discover completely new enzymes. Using its proprietary technology platform, c-LEcta is developing products either independently or in cooperation with leading partners (Asparaginase, Serratia Nuclease, Lipases, Tailored Enzyme Kits, Exclusive Biocatalysts, Grass Stain Enzymes, etc…).
