TIB MolBiol developed a line of cost effective tools, the LightMix Kits. This LightMix Kits cover different genotyping applications for pharmacogenetics, cancer mutation identification, clinical chemistry and hemachromatosis as well as quantification tests for haematology or pathogen detection. The launch of LightMix Kit for the detection of Influenza A H5N1 in 2005 marked the beginning of an exciting progress for TIB Molbiol, and since then, they developed more than 50 LightMix Kits. These kits have been specifically designed, developed and evaluated for the family of LightCycler Instruments to ease routine work without compromise in the quality reliability and reproducibility of the results. The capillary based LightCycler Instruments (from Roche Diagnostics) are the fastest thermocyclers with online monitoring of DNA amplification. TIB MolBiol already ran more than 15.000 Real-Time PCR assays, ranging from simple detection to expression quantification, or mutation analysis like the highly complex detection of low mutant target concentration in a wild type background. The LightCycler Real-Time PCR thermocyclers detect fluorescence in up to six separate channels. LightCycler Instruments melting curve analysis allows the accurate detection of single base mismatches, enabling rapid analysis of polymorphisms in genetics, forensic analysis, etc… TIB MolBiol manufactures high quality primers and probes for use in Real-Time PCR and many other molecular applications. TIB MolBiol offers a wide range of modifications, dyes and LNA. TIB MolBiol also proposes LightSNiP Assays on demand. Melting-curve analysis is the most powerful tool for SNP typing, and TIB MolBiol’s LightSNiP assays are very cost effective using the patented SimpleProbe technology.
