Applikon Biotechnology brings new technologies to the market, offering advantages in process efficiency for research and development as well as pilot plant and production scale processes. Applikon Biotechnology proposes mini- and micro-bioreactors systems on a small scale that can be easily scaled up. Today, several thousands of Applikon bioreactors are used worldwide from small scale R&D up to full scale cGMP production. For instance, Appliflex bioreactors are supplied in 10L to 50L total volume, and support both classical electrochemical sensor technology and optical sensors for pH and dissolved oxygen. The Thermo Fisher SUB is available in volumes ranging from 50L up to 2000L. The system can be equipped with classic sensors or with PreSens fluorophor sensor technology for pH and dissolved oxygen. The CellReady bioreactor is a disposable version of the Applikon 3L glass autoclavable bioreactor. The iCELLis Nano bioreactor is a disposable bioreactor designed for cultivation of anchorage dependent cells. The system combines the advantages of single-use technologies with the benefits of a fixed-bed system. Applikon Biotechnology also proposes micro bioreactors from 200 µL to 5 mL, or micro-Flask, an integrated, easy-to-use, and cost-effective technology platform for the rapid handling and growth of large numbers of microbial strains, clonal libraries, mutant banks, or cell lines in 24- or 96-well plates. Furthermore, Applikon Biotech offers Glass autoclavable bioreactors, Autoclavable Stainless Steel, Bench top Bioreactor Systems, Stainless Steel Bioreactors, Photo Bioreactors, RAM Resonance Acoustic Mixer, etc… Additionally, Applikon developed several bioinformatics software, like BioXpert (a software to control bio-processes and to store the process data), Lucullus (a process information management software) or BioBundle Turnkey Systems (ez-Control Bundles, my-Control Bundles, Appliflex Bundles, etc…).

Applikon Biotechnology is a privately owned biotech company founded in 1974. R&D is done in house in its headquarters in Delft (Netherlands). Design and engineering is done in house, real manufacturing is outsourced but final assembling is also done in-house. Sales and service organizations are based in the USA (Foster City, California and Dover, New Jersey), UK (Tewkesbury) and China (Guangzhou).
