Biolie – enzymatic extraction

The collective awareness of the necessity to limit pollution as well as the evolution of laws triggered the development of new extraction processes. Biolie developed a patented technology answering those societal and environmental issues. Its eco-friendly technology follows the principles of Green Chemistry: respect of the environment, without harmful solvent and waste limitations. Indeed, Biolie has developed a clean solvant-free enzyme-assisted aqueous extraction technology of oils and vegetal actives. This biorefinery leads to the valorization of all products issued from the process (active ingredients, oil, aqueous extracts, protein-rich flour, concentrates, etc…). Biolie’s technology can be applied to all types of vegetals and all parts of vegetals. This alternative process consists in stirring the vegetal in suspension in water in a thermostated tank before adding a specifically formulated enzymatic cocktail to perform the extraction. The innovative part of the process relies on the adaptation of the enzymatic cockails on-demand for an optimal extraction of the targeted molecules, according to the type of vegetal concerned. Biolie’s technology allows to obtain several products in one step, but also to retrieve vegetal oils with high contents in nutriments (vitamin E, polyphenols, sterols, etc…) and to improve yields compared to technologies implying solvents. With this easy-industrialization process, Biolie is well positioned in the “hexan-free” market. Thus, Biolie’s technology encompasses environmental, technological, economical and regulatory advantages. Biolie also offers to its client an on-demand adaptation of the process to the type of vegetal but also to preferentially extract a target compound.
